Las Heras Subway Station

The new subway station, Las Heras, built beneath the Emilio Mitre Square, has an intermediate hall and two side platforms with glass mosaic Murvi. A mix of amber colors, black and orange make this station a modern and colorful architectural work. In turn neighbors descended the stairs to the new station are a portrait of Hugo del Carril. Bearing of the singer and captivating smile that used to have one of the most important figures in the history of tango and is also part of a cultural tour tourist underground paying tribute to this musical genre stand out. The work was done by the artist Marino Santa María. It occupies an area of 500 m2 and demanded the use of more than one million pieces.
